Why this matters
AI listing generators optimize for keywords and length. Amazon’s rules can reject, suppress or rewrite titles that do not comply, and generated claims can trigger policy issues. Treat every generated listing as a draft.
Title checklist
Based on Seller Labs’ September 2026 summary of Amazon’s requirements (confirm in Seller Central):
- Length: 75 characters or fewer, including spaces, for non-media categories (reported effective July 27, 2026). Media categories differ. Older 200-character guidance no longer applies to most categories.
- Brand first, then product type and key attributes (color, size, pack count) as space allows.
- No promotional language: “sale”, “free shipping”, “#1”, “best seller”, “100% guaranteed”.
- No decorative symbols or emoji; avoid trademark symbols in the title.
- No seller-specific info (shipping, URLs, contact details).
- No competitor brand names.
- Title Case, not ALL CAPS; numerals for quantities.
- Words cut from the title moved to bullets, description, attributes or backend search terms.
Amazon’s seller forums also mention an “Item Highlights” area for extra searchable details; check Seller Central for how it applies to your category.
Bullet and description checklist
- Every claim (material, certification, capacity, compatibility) is supported by supplier or test documentation.
- No medical, cure or guaranteed-outcome claims; check restricted-category rules.
- No invented awards, rankings or reviews.
- No pricing, shipping or promotional text.
- Consistent attribute data between bullets and structured fields.
Workflow with AI
- Give the tool verified product facts, not just a keyword list.
- Generate; then run a character count in a spreadsheet.
- Check against the lists above.
- Publish one or two ASINs, verify the live detail page, then batch the rest.
